To repair her broken legs she had a plate put onto each radius. The radius is the main weight-carrying bone in the front legs, and the ulna usually heals nicely without any repair provided the radius is stabilised.

Maisey recovered well from her operation, and actually walked out of the surgery the following day!
The biggest problem for her owner in the following days and weeks was trying to control Maisey's natural boisterousness. She was back to normal in herself very quickly, and didn't understand why she wasn't allowed to go out playing!
Despite the occasional escape from her confinement, Maisey recovered uneventfully and a few weeks after her operation she was out and about as normal.
Hopefully she has learned to be more careful on the roads now, although we are not convinced!
