Pet Advice
Vaccinations, Microchips,Worming, Fleas, Neutering
On 16th December the Government has updated it's advice regarding the Pet Travel Scheme. It appears that now Dogs, Cats and Ferrets travelling to the EU will require microchipping and rabies vaccination. However, a rabies blood test will NOT be required, as the EU has voted to give the UK Part 2 Listed Status which exempts us from this requirement.
Pet Passports will also no longer be valid for travel. Instead, pets will require an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued for each visit to the EU. Each AHC must be completed within the 10 days prior to travel, and is valid for up to 4 months travel within the EU and/or return to the UK.

We have started our new Family Friends Pet Health Plans. These help our clients save money on, and spread the cost of, routine preventative healthcare by dividing the costs into a convenient monthly direct debit.
The plan includes a discounted cost on vaccinations, flea, worm and parasite prevention and gives discounts on microchipping, neutering, dental treatment and other purchases in the practice. The plan is designed to complement pet insurance: where pet insurance covers the costs of accidents and illnesses, the pet health plan covers the costs of routine preventative treatment which isn't included under an insurance policy.
